![]() John Sullivant entered the private security sector after a distinguished 24-year [1958-1982] career as a Security Police Manager with the United States Air Force. His tour of duty called for performance under uncertain and visible circumstances including prestigious assignments at the Air Force Security Force Center developing accredited education programs for a 40,000-person security force serving at locations around the world; the Air Force European Command Staff, collaborating with multination security agencies to develop a comprehensive antiterrorism capability to defend NATO installations from attack; and the Air Force Flight Test & Evaluation Center/NASA Dryden Research Center, where he engaged in the protection of some of Americas most sensitive one-of-a-kind experimental space exploration vehicles, and advanced prototype aircraft including the Space Shuttle Program and other classified activity. He authored the National Security Standard for The Protection of The Space Transportation System and was influential in developing numerous other national security standards. Mr. Sullivant brings to MAI a wealth of experience in threat, risk and impact assessments, strategic security planning, security technology systems planning, security engineering services, security operations, program management, organizational development, change management, performance measurement, work redesign, program evaluation, and technical writing. He has supervised security organizations and programs worldwide. In the private sector since 1982, Mr. Sullivant has developed an international reputation servicing the security interests of civil aviation, port authorities, nuclear power, utilities, medical research centers, commercial manufacturing, business and financial, and foreign governments. Experience spans 5 continents and 24 countries. He has performed threat assessments and vulnerabilities, and provided strategic program security solutions to Fortune 500 companies. Services extend to FAA Air Traffic Control Centers, the Defense Intelligence Community; and the NATO Programme Management Agency. Foreign governments have benefited from his assessment and analytical skills: international airports in Turkey, Zambia, and Tanzania; and all government facilities for the Government of Zambia including the security plan for the African Union Conference, which hosted nation heads of states and dignitaries from around the world. He also developed a comprehensive security plan to counter the threat imposed by the drug cartel against the Peruvian National Drug Court System. For the Defense Nuclear Agency he worked with scientists and engineers in creating a global capability in the highest national interest to field a prototype security system capable of detecting and discriminating between various types of Soviet Nuclear missiles. He supported the International Arms Control Community in advancing research and development of security technologies to assist on-site weapons inspectors to track and verify the dismantlement status of the [former] Soviet Unions nuclear arsenal. He has provided the US Army Center of IDS Design, US Army Center of Security Design, and the US Air Force Center of Electronics & Communications Expertise concurrent technical security services ranging from conducting threat and risk assessments at Army and Air Force installation worldwide to developing a threat assessment/vulnerability model, which is now used by all federal agencies in conducting security surveys. He was also instrumental in developing Department of Defense engineering criteria for the design, installation, and testing of military security systems on a global basis. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from South West Texas University in Occupational Educational, and a Masters of Science degree from Troy State University in Counseling and Guidance. He is a member of the New Hampshire Chiefs of Police and the American Society of Industrial Security serving as the Chapter Vice and Chair for the Granite State [2000 2001]. He is a Board Certified Protection Professional [CPP]. |
